Roma

25 May 2011 Sat Rome

We walked around town for many of the Rome attractions. Instead of Metro, we realized trams are so much better. You get to see the outside scenery. There are a few tram lines that link Porta Maggiore to the various attractions, just a change will do. You never need to worry that you will get down at the wrong stops.

We continue to explore the various attractions in Rome. Thrown a coin at the Trevi Fountain so it is destined (it happened in 2006) that I will be returning to Rome one day.

26 May 2011 Sun Roma - Vatican

Queued at the Vatican Musuem cos today free entry but only up to 12 noon. The queue snaked all the way from the Vatican Museum booth to the street in S shape. Our NUS friends were queuing too. So kiasu right?

Once into the Vatican Museum, we walked with our neck strained cos of the paintings on the ceiling. There were simply so many rooms and so many exhibits and so many paintings that it is impossible to finish everything before 12 noon. We went to the Sistine Chapel that showed the famous painting of man connecting with God.

After the museum, we went to buy sandwiches at the cafeteria. At the souvenir office, we bought the Vatican postcards and stamps for posting to our friends.
Bumped into different NUS Chem Engin people today. Z do have a lot of friends here in Rome.

27 May 2011 Mon Rome

28 May 2011 Tue Rome

Walked around the Tiber region today. Most of the attractions we have already been before so we took it really free and easy today.

Bush visiting the Vatican today so the Vatican museum was closed. The American guy was unlucky, cos he couldn’t enter Vatican for visit today.

Italian lady opened the bathroom door when I was bathing halfway haha. She covered her eyes and shouted mama mia!

Cooked together with housemates. Bought the ingredients and pasta in the morning from the local supermarket De Maglio in Termini in the morning before we set off to our respective destinations. We had so much fun. The Italian woman actually lend us her cooking oil so that we can have some fun cooking. The Englishman took out his laptop, (which he claimed he never took it out for fear it will be stolen) and showed us his travel photos. We ate and washed up. It was such an enjoyable evening cooking together.

Fantastic dinner. This is gonna be our last night in Rome. Everyone in the hostel lossened up.
