Pisa

30 May 2011 Wed Pisa

After the yelling incident at Aphrodite, I learnt to creep out of bed quietly and tried not to disturb anyone in the room. Just when I thought I did it successfully, the little good bye came from the two Canadian girls. We bade farewell and the fact that they work up in the middle of their sweet dreams just to greet us off, sent a warmth to my heart really.

We walked to the Termini in the early morning and slept through the whole journey to Pisa. Once down from the station, one problem. There are no baggage deposit facility at the train station. We have a problem. The nearest baggage deposit service is at the airport. N u have to take a bus to the airport. That will be so troublesome. We lugged our luggage and walked around Pisa. At one hotel, we asked the owner if we can leave our luggage in the hotel for a fee. The owner agreed. Phew! One big problem resolved.

Sitting at the lawn of Pisa can be a very relaxing experience. The warm sun and the cold breeze made a very relaxing atmosphere that one can be forgiven for dozing off.
Once we have taken enough photos of Pisa Tower, we returned to the train station and take the train bounded for La Spezia.

La what??!

La Spezia.

Where the hell is La Spezia?

In Cinque Terre.

Cinque what?!

Cinque Terre. Terre means 5. Cinque is village. Cinque Terre means 5 Little Villages. Five beautiful little villages. Read any guidebooks, prolly just a brief mention about this place. But I promise you. These 5 little villages are gems. The five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore.
The train travelled in and out of tunnel at the cliff and the sea waves is breaking the shore below. After some tunnel crossings, we are finally at La Spezia. We got down the train and walked to the hostel at La Spezia.
